One way to build your small business brand is to establish yourself as a thought leader in your category. A thought leader is a person or organization that carries top-of-mind awareness among the target audience.
A thought leader is the kind of person quoted in articles and invited to deliver keynote addresses. Along with personal recognition, the major benefit of thought leader status is that you’re small business goes wherever you go. You’ll be introduced as “John Doe, Founder of Doe’s Widgets.”
But how can you establish yourself as a thought leader in your category?
One way is through content marketing. Content marketing is the practice of producing reports, white papers, eBooks, articles, and other valuable content related to your market. If you’re a plumber, you could put a free eBook on your website about ways to prevent expensive repairs.
